Reddit user CannierMist775 reports that their funds were taken from their wallet after entering their seed phrase into a fake "WalletConnect" application they downloaded from the Google Play store. They lost $7k. While the attacker withdrew the funds to Kraken, there is no indication that any funds have been recovered.

This is a global/international case not involving a specific country.

At the time of the attack I was trying to connect my MM to pancakeswap and connectwallet both of which gave me errors which was strange since I've used pancakeswap before with no issues. by CannierMist775 in Metamask"

The only recourse you have is to watch the txs of this account and link it back to an exchange. Notify the exchange as many ways as possible.
