MetaMask

Reddit user CannierMist775 reports that their funds were taken from their wallet after entering their seed phrase into a fake "WalletConnect" application they downloaded from the Google Play store. They lost $7k. While the attacker withdrew the funds to Kraken, there is no indication that any funds have been recovered.

"When I downloaded the walletconnect app I did input my seed phrase (thinking it was necessary to trade within the app) is this normal or how else do you use walletconnect?" "I downloaded their app from playstore."

I know staking that uses autocompounding can't use a ledger, but have another account and only risk the staked tokens and not the whole bag. Good luck. The only recourse you have is to watch the txs of this account and link it back to an exchange. Notify the exchange as many ways as possible. There has been some luck in this but its gonna have to be persistent."
