MetaMask

Boxman212 searched on Google and downloaded MetaMask using the first available link. After setting up a new wallet in MetaMask, he withdrew his funds from Coinbase. Instantly, the funds were transfered to a scammer. It was at that point, he posted on Reddit and it was determined that he had clicked on a sponsored search result on Google which led to a malicious application that pretends to be MetaMask but instead steals deposited funds.

This is a global/international case not involving a specific country.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]

About MetaMask

"I just put 1k in meta and someone stole it in 30 minutes. I have the time and address. What do you think?"

"I simply put Ether from Coinbase wallet to a meta wallet and within 30 minutes there was someone that sent all tether (Less 56 cents) to some random address. I read online that that actually happens to a lot of people. I'm done with crypto. I'm sticking with FDIC insured money from now on."

I put the Ether in My meta wallet from the .i0 website and as I was changing the Ether to AA my wallet crashed.
