Luigi Demeo is the Chief Operating Officer for the Avalanch blockchain. The Twitter/X account of Luigi Demeo was compromised for roughly 15 hours, and posted a series of promotions for Avalanche airdrops. Those who connected their wallets to claim the supposedly free AVAX tokens would likely have had their wallets drained of all available funds.[1][2][3]
About Luigi Demeo
"I'm an @avvax maxi, but it's inevitable that Solana is leading this bull market... Due to the increased search for memecoins, I'm creating the $PIKA token on @Solana, based on my favorite character."
"Rewarding All Of Avalanche’s Users. Avalanche, the fastest smart contracts platform in the blockchain industry, is currently hosting the first round of its $AVAX airdrop through Ava Labs. The amount of tokens distributed to each wallet is determined by the wallet's usage of the Avalanche C-Chain."
The Reality
This sections is included if a case involved deception or information that was unknown at the time. Examples include:

- Who actually ran a service and their own personal history.
- How the service was structured behind the scenes. (For example, there was no "trading bot".)
- Details of what audits reported and how vulnerabilities were missed during auditing.
What Happened
