January 11th, 2025 11:45:00 PM MST	Yu Xian (evilcos) Analysis	Yu Xian shares an analysis of how Twitter/X accounts are being compromised, which consist of fake copyright warnings sent to account owners. The copyright notices allow the account owner to appeal, by providing their password and completing two-factor authentication, along with additional documentation if they are willing. Account holders are provided only 48 hours to complete the appeal or an account suspension is threatened.

Technical Details

It appears that the Aizel Network Twitter/X account was compromised through a fake copyright claim phishing notice against the account owner. Once inside, the attackers launched a Ava AI token, which gained significant popularity and a $3m USD market cap. Once the token was sufficiently large, a large quantity were sold on investors, leading to significant losses.
