Citing Your Sources Guide

There is considerably greater flexibility in terms of sources which are supported, given that many of the incidents can presently only be found in comments, social media posts, and various third party websites.

The minimum requirement for a case is 2 separate sources.

Format for Citations

Citations are presently placed in the following format:

Link Title (Access Date)

Here are some examples:

• Example Website Title (Feb 3, 2023)
• Nevis - Wikipedia (Jan 30, 2023)
• Bruce Wagner On Use of MyBitcoin - BitcoinTalk (Jan 30, 2023)
• MyBitcoin Incident Report - August 5th 2011 (Jan 31, 2023)

Using Citation Extension

1. Place the cursor after the sentence or portion of a sentence which you are citing. Typically it goes prior to punctuation such as a period.
2. Select "Basic" under Cite.
3. Paste the link URL with the information.
4. Select the URL and hit "Change text".
5. Type a complete title for the source.
6. Add the date in brackets as in the format above.

Reusing the Same Source Multiple Times

1. Place the cursor after the sentence or portion of a sentence which you are citing. Typically it goes prior to punctuation such as a period.
2. Select "Re-use" under Cite.
3. Select the source which you have previously used.
