DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS
Swarms AI is an enterprise-grade multi-agent framework designed to build, deploy, and manage large-scale autonomous AI systems. It enables developers and organizations to construct multi-agent structures, where multiple AI agents can collaborate through advanced communication protocols, shared memory systems, and optimized runtimes. Swarms offers flexible architectures—hierarchical, sequential, and parallel—allowing complex workflows to be executed with high efficiency and control. By combining scalability with modular design, it empowers teams to automate enterprise operations and integrate intelligent agents seamlessly across industries.
The framework is available in both Python and Rust, catering to diverse development needs. The Python version supports easy integration with popular AI frameworks like LangChain and AutoGen, ideal for rapid prototyping and workflow automation. Meanwhile, Swarms-RS, the Rust-based implementation, emphasizes ultra-fast, memory-safe, and production-ready performance for high-throughput enterprise applications. Alongside local frameworks, the Swarms API provides a hosted, optimized runtime for deploying and scaling multi-agent systems without infrastructure overhead—ideal for enterprises prioritizing reliability, security, and compliance.
Beyond development, Swarms AI includes a thriving ecosystem with its Swarms Marketplace, where users can buy, sell, and share AI agents, prompts, and tools. With over 500 agents and 10,000+ downloads, the marketplace fosters collaboration and innovation within the AI developer community. Supporting materials such as cookbooks, templates, research implementations, and guides help users get started quickly and adopt best practices. Overall, Swarms AI represents a comprehensive platform for building the next generation of autonomous, multi-agent enterprises—uniting performance, scalability, and community-driven development in one unified ecosystem
Unfortunately, one of the moderators in the Swarms AI Discord was vulnerable to be compromised by adding a webhook.
The attack began when a moderator received a malicious link from a suspicious user and clicked it, joining a deceptive Discord server. This action led to the theft (“filtration”) of the mod’s account credentials by an attacker traced to Austria. With access to the compromised account, the adversaries gained elevated permissions within the original server.
A few hours later, the attackers used a webhook to add a malicious bot named “TruthBot.” Once inside, the bot began kicking members and deleting channels, resulting in significant disruption. Over 300 members were removed, and large portions of the community’s content were lost or damaged. The audit logs confirmed these actions were executed through the compromised mod account and the TruthBot integration.
It is unclear if any funds were lost in this case.
The team has regained control of the Discord server after the attack by banning the compromised accounts and restoring order. They are now working with Discord and Discord Support to recover the community’s deleted message history and ensure the server’s stability moving forward
An explanation was posted on Twitter/X the following day.
The Discord appears to be online and restored.
There is limited information.
It is believed that the Swarms AI has been committed.
Swarms AI, an enterprise-grade framework for building and deploying multi-agent AI systems, experienced a Discord security breach when a moderator’s account was compromised after clicking a malicious link. The attacker, traced to Austria, used the hijacked account to add a bot called “TruthBot” via a webhook, which proceeded to delete channels and remove over 300 members. Although it’s unclear if any funds were lost, the Swarms AI team quickly regained control by banning compromised accounts and restoring the server. They are now working with Discord Support to recover deleted messages, and the Discord community has since been brought back online
