It was reported that the hackers profited by $1.3m.
"The post was soon taken down, but the scammers nonetheless accumulated over $1.3 million. This follows a dark trend for political meme coins that emerged throughout the week."
"Bolsonaro's official account on X (formerly Twitter) has been hacked, and they released a cryptocurrency called 'BRAZIL', which surged +10,000% in just a few minutes! Be careful, don't buy. It's a scam, and Bolsonaro's sons have warned about this on their official accounts," Berman stated.

Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil, had his official X (formerly Twitter) account hacked, with the hackers promoting a fake cryptocurrency called $BRAZIL, which quickly surged in value, drawing attention for its fraudulent nature. The posts, which celebrated the coin as a symbol of pride and freedom for Brazil, were taken down after the scammers profited over $1.3 million. Bolsonaro’s sons issued warnings about the scam, and the account was later recovered. Bolsonaro expressed gratitude for the swift response from the X team and reaffirmed the importance of freedom of expression and dialogue.
