Well known actor Seth Green was spoofed by a clone site for the GutterCats website. Four NFTs were stolen worth an estimated $669k USD. None of the NFTs appear to have been recovered.
HOW COULD THIS HAVE BEEN PREVENTED?
Users have to be careful whenever signing any transactions to ensure that the transaction does what is expected. Risks can be greatly reduced by keeping the majority of funds and NFTs in a fully offline wallet which is never used to interact with the blockchain.
