"In June, a 22-year-old cryptocurrency trader was sprayed in his eyes with an unknown substance and robbed of HK$2 million while on his way to buy the digital money in Kwun Tong."
"The suspects struck in broad daylight in the car park of Legend Tower on Shing Yip Street in Kwun Tong, shortly before 4.30pm." "Assailants sprayed unknown substance in 22-year-old victim’s eyes during attack in Kwun Tong, before grabbing bag full of cash."
“While he was waiting for a lift, two men approached him and sprayed an unknown liquid into his eyes before snatching his green bag containing HK$2 million,” a police spokesman said, adding the victim said the substance had left him briefly unable to see.
"Police say gang fled in white car which they later abandoned before running away on foot."
"Three men and a woman were later arrested."
Another case was reported in Hong Kong where a cryptocurrency trader went to purchase bitcoin with cash. He received an unknown liquid sprayed into his eyes, after which the assailants took his money. While the suspects were later arrested, there is no word on whether the cash was recovered.
